HAPPY BIRTHDAY BITCH is the directorial debut of GIANNA RAGOGNA, a screenwriter, cinematographer, and producer who started as a production assistant on productions such as THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY , UNFROSTED (with Jerry Seinfeld) , and ECHOES (netflix). Gianna went on to work in the camera department on reality tv (thanks HGTV) and notably had her first tableread led by the director of HGTV’s BATTLE ON THE BEACH (s4) , where the entire crew read for two hours (how long is this script) (don’t worry it was a different one) in oak island, nc.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BITCH is a self funded project, shot entirely in dir+majority crew’s hometown of Fuquay Varina. The project took two days to film, and (fun fact) production was initially pushed an entire month due to to a snowstorm which took place exactly on the date filming was set to start. Of course, the snowstorm was named by newscasters as “Gianna”.
